While attending college I built and lived in a one room cabin. Here's the story:
During the 2011-12 school year I volunteered on a weekly basis to teach team and leadership development at Francine Delany Charter School. I worked with the 7th and 8th grade boys (the 7th & 8th grade girls were involved in a different leadership program). I worked with the students each Friday from 8:15 to 9 am. This video shows some of the work we did together.

The Lake Eden Arts Festival (www.theLEAF.org) invited me to lead a 60 minute rocket-making workshop at their October 2013 event. The rockets are made from one sheet of card stock (heavy weight paper) and are launched with a home-made compressed air launcher. I published the build-it-yourself plans for the launcher here: www.TomHeck.com
In the two workshops we made and launched 300 rockets. The rockets fly hundreds of feet in the air on only 45 pounds of pressure. Normally I pressurize the launcher with a bicycle pump but for this event I used a small electric air compressor. A rocket can be launched multiple times (10-15) before it becomes worn out. Kids and adults love making and launching rockets.
